ADE is proud to provide a supportive, safe and comfortable environment where dancers can showcase their talents, receive constructive critiques from ADE Faculty and Judges, and enhance their skills through the process.
Each routine will receive audio and video critiques.
THEATRICAL PRODUCTION
ADE has the most state-of-the-art production set-ups in the industry.
NEW! A fully renovated stage the biggest one yet! With 42 feet wide by 34 feet deep dancing area.
Complete custom stage decks with Marley, tap mics, and a video wall.
NEW ramp access on each side of the stage for large props, and a customized video and lighting design for each of the competition routines.

EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
ADE is the ONLY Dance Competition that provides International Exchange Scholarships for the highest-scoring eligible routines at Nationals.
Qualifying dancers during the US National event are given the opportunity to be hosted in another country and perform in the accepting country’s national dance festival.
Qualifying dancers during partnered country’s regionals are given the opportunity to be hosted in NYC and perform in ADE’s national event.
ADE offers two different levels for dancers to compete!
Intermediate Level. Recommended for dancers with 1-3 years of dance training.
Competitive Level (Intermediate-Advanced) Recommended for dancers with 3+ years of dance training.
COMPETITION RULES & RATES
If participating in a competition, the dancer must be registered for the full weekend.
All event pricing is available in the Studio Owner/Director registration portal. Please login to your account to view the competition fees per routine size.

Dancers need to be registered for the convention classes in order to be able to compete.
To reach the average age of an entry, add all the ages together and divide by the number of dancers in the entry. When averaging ages always round up to the next age group.
For example, 12.5 or rounds up to 13 years old.

CATEGORIES
Ballet - technique with classical movement, reflecting a ballet style. Use of pointe shoes is permitted.
Contemporary - routine that draws from modern, lyrical and ballet movements. Maximum of 3 acrobatic skills permitted.
Jazz - technique with up-tempo music. Maximum of 3 acrobatic skills permitted.
Lyrical - style of Jazz & Ballet technique demonstrating clean, classical lines while emphasizing emotional interpretation of the lyrics in the music. Maximum of 3 acrobatic skills permitted.
Musical Theatre - style that interprets a song from a Musical, Movie or Broadway show. Can involve (but not required) the dancer(s) lip-syncing the words to the music.
Acrobatic – style of dance with acrobatics, emphasizing flexibility and aerial tricks.
Hip Hop/Street – style rooted in urban social dancing and often calls for the dancer to freestyle (improvisation) and can include breaking, popping, locking, crumping etc.
Tap - Any recorded tap sounds on the music track will be a deduction of 10 points. (Clogging routines should not be categorized as a tap entry but under “Specialty”)
Open - specific or combination of any style of dance.
Specialty - style of dance with a focus on a special talent: ballroom, ethnic/folk, character, song & dance, etc.
IMPROV COMPETITION
-Four age categories – Minis, Junior, Teen, and Senior (depending on enrollment)
-Time Limit: 50 seconds
-Winner in each age category (depending on enrollment)
-Winners receive a $50.00 credit for ADE Season Finale!

Music for all competition entries MUST be uploaded to your account in either MP3, AIFF, WAV, MPEG-4, AAC, or M4A formats.
To Upload your music, please follow these instructions:
1.-Click on the link below and log into your account:

2.-On your dashboard click UPLOAD MUSIC (mp3/mp4/m4a)
NO CDs, USB Flash drives will be accepted on the day of the event.
NO CDs, Flash drives will be accepted onsite.
All music is due ONE WEEK before the event date, missing music may result in disqualification without refund.
STAY INFORMED!
- The deadline for any changes to the entered routines is two weeks before the event. Incomplete and/or unpaid registrations will not be accepted.
-The early registration discount deadline is 1 month before each event.
Standard Rates will apply after that.
-ADE allows unlimited competition entries with a maximum of 2 solos per dancer. If additional time is available, you will be notified a month before the event.

Entries will be received and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. We recommend submitting your student routine registration as soon as possible to secure your spot!

No checks will be accepted onsite and up to 10 business days before the event date. All registrations must be paid in full before any deadline dates to lock in special rates. Cash or credit cards will be accepted onsite; credit cards are subject to a processing fee of up to 3.75%**

Teachers who own more than one studio may submit entries for each studio, as long as both studios are registered separately.

Live props are not allowed. Small props are welcome. No large scenery, dangerous or oversized props.

Registration fees for workshops and competitions are non-refundable.

Returned check service fee is $35.00
LATE FEES
-Our registration team will honor any first-time registration changes. After that, any additional changes to be done for our registration team will incur a $15 fee per change. These include:

**There is an additional fee of $35 per routine for any competition edits less than 7 days before the event. The cut-off date for any changes is 72 hours before the event.
**Dance studios may apply their own additional administrative fees for registration fees.
